Tax Residency Rules in Hungary (in simple language)
You're a Hungarian tax resident if you're a Hungarian citizen (with exceptions for dual citizens without a Hungarian home), or if you spent 183+ days in Hungary in a year while exercising EU free movement rights, or if you have Hungarian permanent residence status, or if Hungary is the only country where you have a permanent home, or where your center of vital interests (family, financial, and personal ties) is.
