Tax Residency Rules in Germany (in simple language)
You're a German tax resident if you maintain a home in Germany that you regularly use, or if you've stayed in Germany continuously for more than 6 months. German government employees working abroad but paid from German public funds are also considered residents. You can also opt into resident tax status if at least 90% of your income is subject to German tax, or if your non-German income falls below the basic personal allowance (around €10,000–11,000/year).View Tax Law Source
