    Tax Residency Rules in Australia (in simple language)

    You're an Australian tax resident if you "reside" there in the ordinary sense — factoring in your intentions, family/business ties, assets, and living arrangements. Even if that doesn't clearly apply, you're still a resident if your home base (domicile) is Australia, or if you're physically present in Australia for more than half the financial year. There's also a third test for government superannuation fund members.
